The itinerary

Peter’s Basilica and much more. Indulge in Rome’s romantic atmosphere with moonlit strolls along the Tiber River coupled with the best gelato the city has to offer. On the way to the Amalfi Coast, stop in Pompeii to witness the archeological ruins of this ancient Roman town destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Once you arrive in Sorrento, you will spend the rest of your vacation admiring unforgettable coastal views, exploring cliffside towns like Positano and Amalfi, and relaxing at the beach. By experiencing both the history and stunning natural beauty of Italy, a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon is guaranteed.

  • Day 01: ROME

    Benvenuti a Roma! After arriving at the airport, you will make your way to your centrally located 4 star hotel. Once you complete check in you will have the rest of the day to start familiarizing yourself with Rome’s charming city center. In the evening, celebrate the start of your honeymoon with a romantic dinner in one of Rome’s characteristic neighborhoods, such as the Trastevere area. Afterwards, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

  • Day 02: ROME

    Enjoy a nice breakfast at the hotel to prepare for a full day of sightseeing. Your morning will be at leisure for you to visit some of Rome’s most famous outdoor monuments independently. Grab a map from your hotel and start exploring; there is plenty to see no matter what direction you choose. From the breathtaking fountains of Piazza Navona to grand architectural landmarks such as the Spanish Steps, Rome has so much to offer. Be sure to stop by the famous Trevi Fountain so that you can toss your coin and ensure a return trip to this enchanting city with your spouse. Take a break for lunch at a local café or restaurant and then in the afternoon you will take an excursion to the Catacombs. Along the way you will see several of Rome’s major religious sites including the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Basilica of St. John Lateran and the Holy Stairs. Upon arrival at the Catacombs, you will join a walking tour of these underground tunnels which served as burial sites for Christians living in Ancient Rome. Travel down the historic Appian Way before returning to the city center. Freshen up at the hotel and then head for dinner at a local trattoria where you will have the chance to sample the best of Rome’s cuisine, such as carbonara, a delectable pasta dish consisting of eggs, cured pork, cheese and plenty of freshly cracked black pepper. Afterwards, enjoy a romantic stroll through the streets of Rome taking in the city’s iconic sites bathed in moonlight.

  • Day 03: ROME 

    After breakfast, you will have another morning at leisure to continue exploring Rome. Consider visiting the renowned Colosseum and Roman Forum to learn more about daily life in Ancient Rome (optional tour, not included. Skip-the-line reservations highly recommended and can be arranged upon request). Art lovers will not want to miss the Borghese Gallery which features a remarkable collection of artwork as well as stunning gardens (optional activity, advance reservations required). Enjoy lunch and then in the afternoon you will take a walking tour of the Vatican Museums. During the tour you will admire many highlights including the Raphael Rooms, the Sistine Chapel and, of course, St. Peter’s Basilica. Once the tour ends, you will have free time to continue visiting the Basilica and the rest of the Vatican area. Before leaving the Basilica, we recommend making the climb to the top of the top of the dome to admire breathtaking and romantic views of Rome’s skyline. In the evening, enjoy your final dinner in Rome and then return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

  • Day 04: ROME, POMPEII, VESUVIUS, SORRENTO 

    Once you finish breakfast, check out of your hotel and travel to Pompeii via private vehicle. While in Pompeii you will have a chance to tour this famous archeological site with a local guide. During the tour you will learn about the history of Pompeii and the daily life of its inhabitants prior to the destruction of the city during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. After the tour you will have lunch on your own before continuing on to Sorrento, a lovely coastal town that will serve as your base for the second half of the trip. After checking into your new hotel, you will have time to settle in and start exploring the Sorrento’s highlights. In the evening, we recommend a romantic, candlelit dinner at a restaurant along the seafront where you will get your first taste of the Amalfi Coast’s delicious cuisine.

  • Day 05: SORRENTO COUNTRYSIDE

    Start your morning with breakfast at the hotel and then embark on a day of culinary discovery. During this unforgettable excursion you will visit a pasta factory to observe the local pasta-making traditions up close. Next, you will stop at a local farmhouse on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius where you will enjoy a lunch consisting of local products and tour the estate’s vineyards and orchards. You will learn about how the rich volcanic soil of Mount Vesuvius results in unique produce. Afterwards, toast to an unforgettable day as you enjoy a glass of wine while overlooking the vineyards of the farmhouse. In the evening, you will return to Sorrento where you will have dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Day 06: SORRENTO, POSITANO, AMALFI

    After breakfast at the hotel you will spend the day visiting the iconic cliffside towns of the Amalfi Coast. Your first stop will be Positano, famous for beautiful coastal views and the colorful maiolica dome of the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. Enjoy the Positano’s romantic atmosphere before continuing on to Amalfi where you will explore the town’s winding streets taking in historic monuments such as the Cathedral and interacting with the friendly locals. Do not miss your chance to taste locally-made Limoncello, a lemon liqueur, and be sure to visit the town’s boutiques to shop for artisan goods. Return to Sorrento in the late afternoon to enjoy dinner followed by an overnight stay at your hotel.

  • Day 07: SORRENTO, CAPRI

    Enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel to prepare for a full day excursion to the world-renowned Island of Capri. This small island positioned in the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean offers a truly romantic experience thanks to its unbelievable panoramic views, beautiful villas and gardens, and quaint boutiques. You will begin the panoramic tour in Anacapri, the upper part of the island, where the historic Villa San Michele is located. Afterwards, visit the many highlights of the town of Capri such as the Augustus Gardens and the Piazzetta, Capri’s main square and the beating heart of the island’s social life. You may also enjoy taking a romantic hike along one of the island’s lush trails or a panoramic chair lift ride from one part of the island to the other. After experiencing the best that Capri has to offer, you will return to Sorrento for your last dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 08: SORRENTO

    This morning you will enjoy breakfast and then check out of the hotel. This will mark the end of the tour, but the memories of your Italian honeymoon will last a lifetime!
